Magical lakeside city of Rasia

The city of Rasia (RAH-zee-uh) is an important city in my world of Helevos - a city on an inland sea that's home to the Grand Academy, the foremost centre of learning, magic and sciences in the world. It's a busy port with a huge shipping pier, markets and shopping streets lit with colourful lights. It's built on a series a hills which rise quickly to the south.

The Academy sits in a valley above the city, linked to it by the Chainway, a funicular railway which is a marvel of engineering. While the Academy is home to magic and learning, the City has banned magic within its boundaries and prides itself on creating mechanical devices of steam and metal to rival anything magic can produce.

This is a project I've been tinkering with on and off for years (WIP here), I only just realised I never published a finished version.
