Thread: Art Deco map

    Default Art Deco map

This was a study in my sketchbook, but is nice enough to have it's own thread, I think! I wanted to go for a art deco style, and that led to an obvious focus on means of transportation, geometric line art, and a lot of playing with gradients in pencil. It was a lot of fun!

I think the only thing I'd prefer to re-do is to make the airplane look less like a '50s-era Lockheed Constellation and more like a period-accurate 1920s vehicle, with a more rectangular cross-section.

Thanks! It was a really fun style to play with. I will have to revisit it sometime, especially with more a plan behind the designs.

I put a version that isn't so dark in my sketchbook album...
