    Wip Watership Down

    Hi everyone!

It's been a while since I haven't posted anything (I've been into a Blender frenzy for the past few weeks ), so here's a project I had in mind for a long time. I read Richard Adam's classic novel last year, and at the time I really enjoyed the author's attention to geographic details and lavish landscape descriptions. The original map is also very good, so I took it as my background and started building from there.

My idea was to somehow incorporate other data in it, such as flora indications, which play an important role for the characters (rabbits, in case you didn't read the book ). So I scanned through the book, taking note of each plant that was explicitely mentioned.

I haven't finished yet... I also plan to indicate the "Elil" (ennemies) occurences.

So here I am so far. I don't know yet how I will display the botanical indications, for now I simply focus on drawing them all

I'll update my progress in the days to come, hoping this map won't take me too much time (wishful thinking eh?)

Let me know what you think

    Thanks Ilanthar!

The painstaking process of "botanical" painting is now over (I must confess I skipped few ones...), I'm now figuring the placement of those thumbnails in the margin, not an easy task since it must match roughly the places where they are mentioned.

As for the compass rose, I wanted to try something different, but I'm not sure if it's clear enough do you all get that this dragonfly is oriented northward?

Finished! Not perfect; but I didn't find the courage to fix the little inconsistencies I found afterwards... like my other maps, I'll probably get back to it in the future.

I admittedly never read watership down, but this map is a lovely little thing, almost like something from one of those vintage flower books. Well done.
