Thread: The Divided Land

  1. #1

    Default The Divided Land

Another personal work, this one takes place in the same fantasy setting I used for the City of Ktorr.

    Attachment 120197

It's still based on the lore I wrote for a short story, and displays a broader view of two warring countries, the Human Dukedoms and the Orcish Princedoms.
They both share a natural border with the Wild Lands where many outcast races, from elves to lesser greenskins, struggle to protect their fragile homelands.

Made with Corel Painter 12 and Inkscape for the labels.

Thanks again for your valuable feedback !

EDIT: Updated version of the map uploaded on 12/03/2020 and featuring more natural colors.

That border is awesome. The colors as well stand out to me as different to most maps. Bleak? Not sure that is the correct word but the effect it has is great!

I could have sworn I already commented on this... But it's a fantastic piece! I love the way you ised colour and texture here.

Edit: OK, I have now found your thread in the WIP section that I had indeed commented on! I thought my mind was starting to go for a bit...

Many thanks ! That's an interesting difference in perception. I'm genuinely surprised to read the words cheerful and bleak describing the same piece. Divided feelings about a Divided Land...

Thank you very much ! I admit I was afraid it might look like a repost. I fixed some mistakes in the labels but the final result is almost the same.
