March 2020 Mapping Challenge: Násshár iłuitin

I wasn't initially planning on joining this event but in the end I had an idea…

Some of you will guess what it represents, but I thought it'd be fun if I just pretended to keep it a secret for as long as possible. ;) The thread title is the translation of the lair's name in my conlang and the IPA is /næːɕsɑːɾ ɪɫ̪uɪ̯tɪn/ in case you were wondering (I would be!).

I actually have no idea at this time whose lair you are mapping. But I like the colors, so far! And I'm glad to see someone else entering this challenge! I didn't want to be by myself

Those side-view trees and grasses/reeds are rather jarring given the top-down nature of the rest of the map. Assuming those aren't individual trees, I'd expect something more like a simple pattern (dots, diagonal stripes) to mark woodland (I'd have suggested simple color, if you hadn't color-coded the elevation). You might also want to add depth contour lines in the lake.

Those are some really good top-down waterfalls, though.

I guess I should guess what it is... Lion King's Pride Rock?

Not Lion King. I really like that guess, though. The next update should reveal the whole thing I think.

I'll fix the trees. I'm really surprised my waterfalls look decent, they're just transparency gradients. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely use them. ^^

This took a ridiculous amount of trouble but here we are: plot revealed! Still some issues but I'll work on making it a tad more consistent.
