Post Curved Stairs / Double Curved Stairs (free use)

As part of a Lovecraftian game I needed some imposing stairs for a grand entryway into a mansion. I couldn't reallllllly find what I was looking for so I made these. They are based on a design I found here: https://dwgmodels.com/476-baroque-staircase.html

Please don't sell this anywhere, but feel free to use it for whatever you like (non-commercial or commercial). Credit me if you can, but if you forget, don't worry about it.
*if you do use this, please post a picture on this thread so I can see what you've made!*

As a discussion point, I made this in GIMP and am not entirely happy with how jagged/saw-toothed the curved edges turned out. Any pointers on how to make that better?

    These are pretty neat.

If I wanted to reduce anti-aliasing, I'd either make bigger strokes, or work larger and then downside the art at the end.

    Nice stairs.

I really looks like you have anti-aliasing off.
I've been using GIMP for years (currently 2. and I've never had a problem like that.

As Tiana suggested, starting with a much larger image and scaling it down is another option.
If you do scale the image down, you'll get a much better result if you scale it down in steps of about 80%.
    (i.e. with a starting image size of 100, scale it in steps like 80, 64, 50, 40, 32, 25... etc.)

Thank you both for the response. I'm pretty much a novice at GIMP and am just starting to figure it out. I knew I was missing something when I tried to fix it initially.

I'll try again and follow both of your suggestions and post the new result. Thanks again!

Thanks to the advice from Tiana and bkh1914 these stairs now look much better.

I went back and redrew the entire set of stairs on a much larger canvas and, as suggested, the strokes and lines were much less pixelated. The anti-aliasing was on in GIMP, but I was originally working so small that it had no effect. While the final product is much larger as a file/pixel size, it looks much better and even when it's scaled down it looks better.

Thank you again Tiana and bkh1914!

Attached are the full size redraws and a 50% scaled image for each as well.

    Those look a lot better.

Even the full size has smooth lines this time.

    Much appreciated!

My original was only 465 x 316 which was way too small. Thanks again

Much better now! Well done and I'm sure you'll make many more great assets if you continue in this path.

Thanks for the support and the help! I'm getting a little bit more comfortable with doing this kind of thing, but I'm still new to it. If I make any new stuff I'll be sure to post it in the forum.
