Wip Panorica | Ilha Rasa: The Village of Cabanas

Helloooo folks! Now I am trying to draw one of the settlements presented in my latest map (this one).

There are maybe 3 years that I do not touch City Designer and I was never good with it... The wall is just the bare bones for now. I pretended to still work a lot on it. I am thinking in how I can simulate a wall made of tree trunks... I also had to relearn how to use the house tool (and I am still faaaar from understanding it!) but the buildings are getting done. The roads are also just a sketch for now. I am trying to figute out the circulation and general lay out of the settlement.

That's a nice settlement I especially like the warm colors you gave to the grass/trees, it creates a pleasant atmosphere. I would suggest though to tone down a bit the knotted frame, I think the black is too sharp and kind of breaks the mood. Awesome work besides that!

Yup, the frame is a bit harsh on the eye. I would also sharpen the terrain transitions, but other than that it looks good!

Thank you very much for the kind words. The decorative border is one more element that I am not done with. I am thinking in doing the labels, compass and this type of elements in B&W. So MAAAAYBE a B&W frame will turn nice in the end. But I will test others colours for sure. You think that a wooden colour would fit better for now?

What you people think about my stairs and their blend with the walls? I used the tutorial from Sue Daniel.

Some small progress. I basically worked on dtails of the map but I still need to finish major things like the roads and buildings.

Very clean and clear map. I like the details such as the different shades of trees.
