City of Noon

Whirl is a tidally locked planet facing a red sun. It's a chilly world with a perpetual hurricane vortex over its sunward side, with only the Eye free of storms. In the centre of the Eye, with the sun constantly overheard, is the city of Noon. It's protected from constant solar radiation by a solar turbine, which spins to create energy, and its vanes rotate over 24 hours to create a day-night cycle.

It's often tricky to do scifi maps so this is a retro-future Art Deco style.

It's intended to be an inset for a bigger world map of Whirl, but I thought it looked pretty good by itself.

Updated draft of my design - I changed the colour of the sun shield (I can see colouring it the same as the sun rays is confusing) and added some city labels and background clutter. Still a WIP.
