    Default The Kraalreit - Commission

    Greetings Cartographers!

Welcome to the Kraalreit, a commission for fantasy author Jonathan Chapple. His story follows a mercenary company caught up in a factional war for control of the Kraalreit - a small nation fissured by religious and dynastic conflict. The story takes place in an age of technology similar to the Thirty Year's War, and I tried to go for that feel in the map. Presented is the final product at page-size.

    Hope you enjoy!

    It's lovely ! A shame it's so little but I feel that's a demand from the client.

Yeah, it's meant to fit in a paperback, so that's the size I had in mind when I created it. I worked at a much higher resolution, but that doesn't really do the map justice when I add it here on the CG - zooming in sort of kills the way it looks when it all "comes together," I guess.

Very effective, for sure a map that has got its place in a book.

I wish more books had a nice map that is that effective. Well done.

Lovely. Perfect map for a book. Nice and legible without being 'busy'. Good job.

I love the little edge that crosses over the lower left border. It's such a small detail that gives more life and expanse to the piece. Very thoughtful.
