Link Zatta: A Free 18th Century Fuzzy-Caterpillar/Hachure Relief Brush Set

Hey everyone! Today I’m releasing Zatta my latest free brush set. This one is a bit different from my previous sets and the brushes within skew away from the hill-profile style we all know and love and instead focuses on fuzzy-caterpillar/hachure relief.

This set comes from L’Estremadura di Portogallo a 1775 map of southern Portugal created by Italian cartographer Antonio Zatta as part of his Atlante Novissimo. Hachure maps didn’t really see popularity until the 19th century, so finding extensive use in a map from 1775 meant I was able to capture that transitory stage. It’s a beautiful map, and the set that emerged from it is perfect for flintlock fantasy, steampunk, or anything that sits on that edge between the 18th and 19th centuries.

As always, these are distributed under a CC0 license, which means they’re free to use for personal or commercial work, no attribution required! Let me know what you think!

You can read more about Zatta and download the set over on my blog.

Thanks a ton! This is exactly the kind of thing I needed. Looking around your website, you've got some other great brush-sets too.
