    Map Terhae

    Hi Folks,

Here's a map I finished recently for Swiss young adult fantasy author Mary Sara.

I haven't got much context (the four elements, kids, moon and dragon imagery ...) but the map was fun to make and that's what I needed in-between two city maps (I'm not in uncharted waters with parchment maps) so, thanks a lot to the commissionner The map will appear on two pages and I have to say having some room was nice too as novel maps are too often packing challenges. This is the first time I draw my rivers like this and it won't be the last as this gives more punch to the land in my opinion.

The black and white map will appear in the book and the sepia toned one is meant to be a reward for a contest.

As always, I hope you enjoy those and I'd love to hear your critics about this one

    Cheers !

The rivers do look really good and all those lakes and waterfalls are also really cool! My favorite part has to be the cliffs though. Very detailed as normal!

Definitely like the rivers! Looks great both in colour and grayscale. Nice!

Exceptional work, as always. I especially love the compass rose, the details like the bridges, hobbit holes and caves, and the varied coats of arms. Oh, and the cliffs, I might use this as reference, to practice cliffs.

Thanks a lot Rafal, they're mostly repurposed sources but someone said that talent was knowing how to hide your sources so, I take it

Putting the two versions side by side, this is a good example of color really adding to a map!

As others have said, Thomas, your linework is excellent and the border pattern is very distinctive.

Thanks Joseph ! These days, I struggle not to add that sepia look to my B&W maps About the border, it's a pattern inspired by concept art for the weapons in the LotR franchise. Tiny details can add a lot
