    Default [WiP] small watercolor town map

    I was drawing this map the other day and decided to color it, too

    Any tipps on how to choose colores for maps like this one? I like the color of the river

    Those trees look like Jared Blando's style. Just got the book and in the process of drawing my first hamlet ever.

    Anyway, I haven't coloured any maps as yet so I can't give you advice on that. I'm looking forward to the finished product. Regarding the layout, it looks good. Something to add to my inspiration collection.

    I like that the town square isn't exactly square. It makes it feel more natural like the town started off as a bunch of squatters putting up sheds around a well which some else dug before moving on. Soon more people came and set up camp and the houses evolved into what is pictured there today.
