Help Inkscape - Paint fill too

hello all, i am playing around trying to make a city in gimp, so i thought i would make a little roof and then import it into inkscape and play with the colour.

what i got when i tried using the bucket fill tool is a line of each colour around the border. any help would be great full haha.

also any good tutorials about a starting a cityscape in gimp or inkscape?

    thank you

I'm not sure of the origin of your problem, but here is one of the many reasons it can happen

this is a test i made with this kind of "pen" in gimp Click image for larger version.

As you can see it on the zoom below, it's not plain black : you've got a gradient of grey around the pencil line

I fill with the bucket and a "seuil" (treshold in english?) of 0 :

As you can see, it doesn't fill the grey parts : the treshold=0 means that it earches the exact color value of the pixel you have click on around, filling with your color. In may case, i clicked a pure white pixel. It stopped on the grey pixels

The same line, same bucket filling with an increased treshold

I have found another solution : use a the special brush "1 pixel" (by long clicking on icon, select the "brush MyPaint", and then on the right, cliking on the image brush, it opens the many special brushes gimp has).
The line drawn are full colored, of 1 pixel, with no color gradient around
