Thread: Wreckers Reef

    Map Wreckers Reef

Wreckers Reef is a seaside town I worked on for a new campaign product being developed by Mike Haggerty.
"A small pirate port in the swampy archipelago of Solag's Folly, it lies on the island of the same name on the northwestern edge of the island group."

The campaign is still in testing and being developed as we speak. Mike told me...
"The Campaign that Wreckers Reef is attached to is called "The Broken Keel" and it's a seafaring adventure investigating the mysteries surrounding the Machinations of an elder Kraken in my homebrew world."
You can definitely look forward to more maps from the campaign from me.
I'm already working on another larger city for the campaign, which looks like it might be really cool.
Have a great week. Cheers, J

As I mentioned on DA, I really like this one. By the way, is that boat full of lemons?
My new Deviant-thing. I finally caved.

Hehe, that would be hilarious.. a boat full of lemons, and one full of cucumbers. ooh, or limes. for the gin.

Woah! This is awesome. The colors are amazing as always but my heart made a little jump when I saw the panorama view of this town. Did you make a 3d sketch for this or is it all by eye? It is spot on..!

    Thanks DD
I had to do it by eye. I tried a 3d model, sort of. A simple one.
But it just looked wrong and I couldn't seem to get the view that I wanted.
The perspective part is usually the hardest, if you start from a top down map.
If you start from perspective, then matching tit can be hard.
It's just a challenging way to do a map, i guess.
It gets harder with more buildings.

Wonderful execution, your cliffs are always an enigma to me, how do you capture such realism?

I'm getting better with the side views.
    They're a tricky thing.

    Thanks Adfor
I study a lot of top down imagery, from drone pics to satellite images.
I also look at a lot of terrain images.
I need to spend some more time practicing more varied plant life.

Beautiful, as always ! The perspective view looks amazing, the swamp area is wonderful, and what could we say about the docks and ships ? Perfect, just perfect !
