Post July/Aug '20 Lite Challenge: Drakenheim

Okay, some hours ago, I said I will wait to post my idea and therefore wait with the annoucement of my participation... but I can't... Bogie got me again with this challenge

So my idea is somewho classic I think. I will use the shape as landform of an island, where the small Viking village "Drakenheim" is located.

Here is the sketch... and I swear, this month it will go further than that

Congrats! First to join the challenge! A Viking village on a small island would be very useful!

That just could be delivered so quick, because of Bogie's free house assets. So thanks again for preparing so much stuff!

Nice work on this. Textures look solid to me. My only nitpick would be that the island does have a bit of a floating feel to it. I have the same problem when I try to to this kind of style and still haven't found a solution that I am happy with. Still, it is looking like a contender to me.

Yeah my favorite problem . I'm working on that besides finishing the rest, but so far the results are not what I have in mind. So I will definitly work on that and try to improve that.

Next try, reworked coastline style, added some more layers there and I think it is a lot better now (although not quite perfect). Also experimenting with a border from Book of Durrow.

I like the texture of the waves, but the color is to even. Maybe darker where the water is deeper, lighter where it is shallow, to break up the uniform color/shading.

Good point, I didn`t think much about the water so far, but you are totally right and I will work on that, so thanks!
