Thread: City of Iliam [commission]

    Map City of Iliam [commission]

A recent city map commission from Trenton Hoyal, who is a splendid client to work with.
I believe this was for his personal campaign, in a world called Eternum.
This is one of the centers of trading and commerce at the mouth of a river, on the edge of the sea.
He wanted it done in the style of Nexus, which is nice to work in.

You can grab a print of it, if you're interested, over on my inprnt shop -

Have a great week. Cheers, J

    What an immense work!!

    Impressive imagination and detail!

I particularly like the highlights of the city: the fortress, the thatre, the temples, the walls, the islands... and above all: the port, which is very impressive, with many boats. You can really feel that the city is turned towards water from the point of view of its economy. This aspect is very well rendered!

Another very successful aspect: the fields and outside the city...

The whole is really very well done!

When will there be a perspective view ?

It's such a wonderful city . Apart from the - splendid - lineart, I'm always impressed by the design of your cities. They look both organic/chaotic/lively and organized/plausible somehow.

Somewhere dark and rather dangerous...and also inhabited by these confounded mosquitoes.

Hehe, oh my... a perspective view would be a huge challenge.
Though, I am almost tempted to try to sketch one out.....

Yeah, I realized looking at this that the main road is not so "main".
I agree that it is a sort of controlled chaos.

Did you hear that? It was the sound of my mind exploding into sub-atomic particles

Really awesome work as always. You have me tempted to try a city map myself.

Wonderful. Just wonderful. 'loving those fields, and the faded lines on the forests, and this incredibly simple yet effective border, and how everything is both basic and so complex.
Nothing new : I love your work as I always do, right ?
