October 2020 Challenge: Grave Tree Catacombs

Hello!

Didn't think I'd be back so soon for a challenge, but I had to do it. I've had the idea to zoom in close and map the area of the Grave Tree Catacombs from one of my city maps. It is the above ground entrances to the catacombs. Maybe I'll later get to the labyrinth of the catacombs themselves. But for now, let's have some graveyard fun!

This is a section of the once name Guard District, now called the Ruined Guard District after a single night left most of the area mysteriously in ruins. How and what did destroy an entire area in one night?

Hi!

Okay, so I was hitting a bit of a brick wall in what direction I wanted to go for a few days. But like usual, I end up ramping up the difficulty for myself. So let's go for the roller coaster then!


I only had one version saved before I started highlighting and shading the heck out of the map. I'll add it to the bottom of this post.
Also, though I am ten to one going to turn this into a night map, I wanted to get the landscape right before I do.

A few more buildings that also pose as entrances to the catacombs! So far so good. Though, the ruined buildings for the right is yet to provide a solution on how to do them. But, I'll tackle them when I get to them.

Okay, so adding the lights is actually quite straighforward once I got something I could repeat on other places. But, the ruins left of the Guard District is proving a bit more of a challenge on how to express it on the map. Though, so far I have an idea. (I'll add the highlights and shadows for them as I go.)
