    Default Dargonvess Valley

So here is a first plan for my challenge entry. The lake is the dark pencil at the bottom with mountains above them. I will have a legend in the bottom left and a scroll with the valley's history on the left top side. This is just a plan but hopefully this will motivate me to start working a bit more!

Ok! Next update! I am going to advance the legend/key I will be using for this map as my main entry for the challenge. As this map is going to be of a Dwarven kingdom's mountain, I am making a dwarven themed legend. The number system is based off of Roman numerals, with a pickaxe for a 'I' and a pile of gold for a 'V'. Although a little cliché, I guess that makes it more clear for anyone who would like to use it in the future.

Ok! So next update! Here is a finished image of the legend. I now need to edit it a bit, particularly in making the background transparent and transforming it into a Jpeg.

They are Primacolor colored pencils. They work really well but, be warned, in low lit rooms it is very easy to mistake the dark green and dark blue. I certainly do not have a map where I accidentally colored an entire lake green and then only noticed it about 2 weeks later (and I certainly did not need to erase the green and put blue because everytime I looked at the map after that I immediately saw a green lake...).

Next time, just declare that the lake has algae issues. Problem solved!
