Default Feb/Mar '22 Lite Challenge: River Castle

I have been working on this for some time now, but since nobody is here yet I didn't really dare... Still feels a bit scary to jump in but after some thought: here we go!
I am on holiday at the moment so excuse me for the poor lighting.

I went with a fantasy castle but it is heavily based on all the castles that I visited and that exist in the Netherlands.
I am in 13th and 15th century reenactment as well so I am lucky to have visited a few.

This is just a part of what I intent to draw but this is the main bit with the main keep, an outer court with a barbican and a "chemin de ronde".
I hope to make another drawing and combine them later, when I am at home and have a scanner and more tools

This is a great start! I was feeling the same way, but I think you have given me the courage join the challenge as well (later this week)

Welcome to the Challenge and to the Guild Alhandra! Great job on this map, and thanks for getting the challenge started.
We all appreciate it when a new member joins in the challenge right after they join the Guild! We like that kind of enthusiasm!

Looks like I can't finish this challenge in time...
The home renovation that was supposed to happen earlier, but was delayed due to the virus is happening now...
Although it means my house will have new windows and doors, it also means there is little time for drawing with builders around...

    I am sorry...
I still want to finish it sometime later.
