    Default Gullintanni (commission)

    Hi Everyone

This is a commissioned piece that I've been working on for some time and have finally completed. This map was commissioned for use as the main city in a DnD campaign. The brief was for a walled city with a port, surrounded on all sides by dense forest. Usually, people aren't allowed to pass through the gates into the rest of the country. it acts as a sort of quarantine into the rest of the country, which is very insular and xenophobic.

As always any comments and questions are very welcome. I hope you enjoy this piece, personally I think it's one of the best I've done.

The map is done using all physical materials as outlined below
    - A3, 200gsm watercolour paper
    - Dip pen with sepia Windsor & newton calligraphy ink
    - Pebeo studio watercolour paints

I like your style. I always appreciate art in traditional media.

Very cool. Love the train inclusion in a medieval city. Also I love the docks and quays.

This may seem like a weird compliment, but I really love how the shadows on the water are not uniform, but actually show the ripples/movement of the water. It's just this attention to detail that make your maps awesome.

Thanks Diamond, the ripple effect on the water is very much what I was going for with the shadows so I'm glad it comes across.

I love the border on this one! Having the little closeups and the compass all integrated into the design is a wonderful idea. I have to agree with D on the shadows on water, it's a really nice touch.
