Wip June/July ‘23 Lite challenge: Hollow Bay

needed a break from everything and a challenge, so i thought i would have a go at turning the shape into a regional map, since that scale is not one i am really comfy with.
Thought it would look good as a big bay
have got this far today by following my nose without really having an end state plan/style in mind… (bad idea!) and am now a bit stuck. Need to add towns and roads and maybe sea lanes … and lables
    and a compass rose.

Will sleep on it and see what happens tomorrow

Have made an attempt at labels… i think i need to work on how to make them look better with this style of land colouring. …

i think this is it unless i have a wave of inspiration in the next day or so…

This belongs to a 1800's nautical adventure novel. Your color choice is very appealing to the eye.

I agree. The softness of the map is endearing.

I don't see your map in the Challenge Thumbnails. I'm not sure if this is a glitch on my side or if there is an error.

    Looking great!

I think your thumbnail isn't showing because you capitalized all the letters in your latest WIP tag. It should be like this: ### Latest WIP ###

& I had not checked up on that thumbnail thing. ... also had skipped the space after/before the # marks... wonder where else I have messed that up!?

    Cool map so far.

Though, I will say this though, try and put some variety into the names. So many of them having "Port" is distracting. Maybe have some as harbor or achorage or bay ect.

Wonderful map, i like how you used the little islands to complete the southern border of the shape.
    Thanks for entering!
