Wip March/April/May '24 Lite Challenge: Collado de Peñajosa

Here is the bare bones of the story of the land.

This is a high mountain pass connecting The Domain of Agaron, at the south, with The Narfec Empire, in the north.

    Informative Sign
The frontier at the "Collado de Peñajosa" should be open from April to September. If you attempt to get through any other month, you may at your own risk, but be advised that we only maintain and guard the royal road on those months.
Upon entry in Cagarosa, you will be given a passport. Keep it on you at all times, and present it when asked by a guard.
You will need to present it to exit, and you will be asked to pay the tax for the road and the bridges, any month of the year.

I'm changing the name of the village to "Laliena de Berruecos".

Also, the reason why there's a mountain pass here is because it's a break in the vertical walls at the top of the mountains.
See for example this photo here

It's very difficult to get through those mountains.
In the map, the grey line represents the beginning of those cliffs where getting through with a cart is impossible.

The dark and light brown lines describe how the ice age glaciers carved the mountains and left vertical walls that make getting up to them with a road very difficult.
The dark brown line represents this type of cliff:

And finally, the light brown lines were similar to the dark brown ones, but they mainly describe that first climb you have to get through to get to any kind of glacier.

Here's an example of all 3 jumps in height and inaccessibility, note how they don't describe height, they aren't level lines, they describe where a type of cliff begins:

To those people that make mountain maps that make sense (i.e, they drain water correctly) and they shade the mountains, you have my deep respect. It takes a lot of time and imagination and making sense of things to do it adequately.

Here's a quick update. I'm preparing the map for mountain shading by marking the borders, ridges, valleys, etc.

    Hey there, it's me again.
I'm almost burnt out of shading the mountains. The good news is that it gives the map a nice 3D feeling.

Here grey means mountain tops and green means valleys and rivers. Blue are glaciers.
