When naming modern continents and worlds, I prefer to name the continent after the things that I intend to illustrate on those maps, so for instance I named the Youtubia project after the YouTube content creation world. When it comes to ancient maps however, I might prefer to take some inspiration from kingdoms in ancient video game series or a fantasy television show.

In terms of continental subdivisions and cities, I prefer to maintain realistic naming standards when naming places - so in terms of provinces and countries, I prefer to name them after real-life properties (in the Youtubia project, the Fashion province for instance includes cities named after content creators who make videos on the subject of fashion), while in the case of cities, I occasionally prefer to rename original names which make no sense as city names to include suffixes (such as town and city) or leaving certain name-related details out.
