Things and Stuff

Some of the things that I've done hereabouts.
  1. Another Challenge Map
  2. This one turned out reasonably well. As usual, labels are not terribly well done.
  3. One of my earliest attempts to generate a landscape from a simple outline. Not terribly effective; I really overdid it on the erosion.
  4. Turtellaria - an attempt to produce a landscape from a piece of clipart. Not a great result, but it an early example of 3D perspective rendering...
  5. Another example of taking a piece of clip art and trying to make a map out of it. The basic image was viewed as a 3D perspective image and the color...
  6. An attempt to generate spatially-varying results using the standard Wilbur shader, including latitude shading. The limitations of the technique led...
  7. The standard example showing how to turn a coastline and mountain mask into a height map. The coloring could have been done better, but it's not too...
  8. A challenge entry that showcases the techniques of the CSU Johnsondale map along with the V2 shader and some Photoshop post-processing on things like...
  9. Geometria - hardcore geometry with fluvial plausibility. The original entry shows the masks used in making the height field and the results were...
  10. More of the same from the "map yourself" challenge. Started with a piece of clipart, draw mountain masks, processed, then pulled things into...
  11. Untitled 1
  12. The first try for one of the ink blots challenges. Standard mask-based processing in Wilbur with the V2 shader.
  13. The final version of the ink-blots challenge. This image is mostly grayscale processing like a direct overhead light and ambient occlusion combined...
  14. It was the run-up to Christmas and I had an hour of quiet. Rather than being smart and sleeping, I did this instead.
  15. Thaminor3: a quick sample for a guild member's request.
  16. The 11th Hour - another challenge entry marred by use of that one tool and a literal interpretation of the challenge topic.
  17. Just like the clock entry, only more so!
  18. A quickie done for a guild member that highlights one of the V2 shader's defects: it only works for one hemisphere.
