Looking good, though I may have to deduct points for leaving New Zealand off, you wouldn't want to end up on r/MapsWithoutNZ/.

New Zealand is there, behind the character's left arm. Just try to imagine it... for the points sake.

I would have thought that it would be visible in the gap between his arm and body but alright, I'll take your word for it.

I over-layed the map with my picture. You are right, NZ would peak through between his elbow and waist. Now I remember: I excluded it because I though it may cloud the character.

Artist's prerogative. No offense intended. Lol.

Thanks for the suggestions. I really thought about adding a ship, because a submarine is essential part of the plot, but I couldn't imagine how to illustrate that without making the map look like an 1800's pirate map with the illustrated clipper ships.
I might add "New York Times 1# best seller" or something to the top or bottom margins. Lol, I'd like to get that badge honestly with my book.

I concur with Mr. B's suggestions. A few icons and/or a compass might go a long way without making things too cluttered.

I agree as well... could use a little more something or other to pull it together but it's a good looking design.

Looks really good! My only suggestion is to consider moving the compass and the tag line a bit more towards the bottom to balance some of the empty space at the bottom.
