I guess so? I am not talking about all the landmass coloring...the green looks mostly okay. I am talking especially about the white-ish/grey-ish parts. It just looks kind of unsharp/unfocused. As i said, this is very pronounced around and in the mountains.

This is the "blob" style forest, what do you guys think?

Reminds me of a ski route map with the clear paths between trees

I think the trees are really nice, some of the best I've seen, they look natural and I like that they ungulate some. What type of brush do you use for this?
The mountains seem a little too blurry and the white highlights maybe a little too strong.
Lots of inflow on the upper lake, but no outflow, maybe the outflow onto the plains and meanders? The lower lake seems to have a pretty big stream coming out of it, maybe a little thinner there.

Definitely love the forest style! Very well done. Looking forward to seeing the map with all the forests in place.

@snodsy - glad i am not the only one with the "too blurry" and the white/grey thing ... i was starting to question my eyesight

Impressive forests! Subtle shading, great colors, and blending perfectly with the rest.

I missed this one. It looks really nice! The resolutions seems a bit low but the style is absolutely lovely.

I knew I posted this map somewhere, it's weird as it doesn't appear in my started threads list, so I can never find it.
Anyways, do the biomes look okay thus far?

Hmm, here's it with pine forests only, but at this point i'm really starting to doubt putting forests up and maybe instead going with no vegetation and only colors, after all this does depict a world. And, they can sometimes look out of place. That, or make it so that the forests are more cohesive and then overlay the rivers on top of them, what do you guys think?

I totally agree with the others here: these are excellent looking forests who fit the wonderful painterly style of the map very nicely. Too good to drop them imo! Can't say whether more cohesive forests might look better, do you have an example of it already to compare?

Edit: Sorry can't say anything about the biomes. The map looks pretty interesting though
