Default Sironae material experiment and Ideas

I still try on different material and ideas.
So i try to put all Ideas in one topic.

My first post in my idea...the world in a egg? Or a world on a egg?
It was a fun project to to.

DVD Fineliner (better than normal fineliner) and water color. the button on the ends is to protect the shell.
please remember this is the first try.

Oh that is a neat idea!

I really like it, and with a bit more work it would become a really attractive map-egg

Can you paint on ping-pong balls?

Just asking, because I might try it myself. I wonder if acrylic paint would stick to ping-pong plastic?

This is neat! I love how you're always trying new things, Sironae.

On second thoughts Sironae, I think those really large wooden beads would be better, only I just don't have the time right at the moment.

I only got as far as looking for them:

This is what I might get if I EVER get around to trying something like you have with the egg

There are bigger ones - up to 80mm diameter, but they seem to get unreasonably and disproportionately more expensive after 50mm

That's really neat Sironae. You've got some nice detail in there for it being on an egg!

Egg painting is notoriously difficult in my household. I once had a group of 7 of my stepson's friends blowing and painting eggs in the kitchen for Easter.... NOT the easiest thing to clean up afterwards when the egg white had mingled with the paint and started to dry on all the old scratched surfaces! LOL!

I was thinking that the paint would stick fairly well on them if they were very carefully sanded a bit first with very fine sanding paper, and that the hole in the middle would serve to mount them on miniature stands, like real globes

Real life was a bit stressful.
But now i have more Time. So i tried a real big map on fabric. It is for my tend on a LARP Convention.
Still work in progress....one map has all details, but is missing the frame and color.
Map 2, missing details, color and frame.
But i think work in progress is also interessting to see :-)
