Wip Map A - Northern Maze [Jo land]

    Hello !

Finally, time to throw myself in the Guild World !!!

It's been in a corner of my head for a long time now : a map with fjords !

I took the liberty of redrawing the coastline of the Map A... Since I didn't took more place on the outside of the land that was given by J.Edward, I assume it won't be a problem... If it's not the case, please, let me know, so I can redraw the coastline in its original coast !

Here's the first draft of what I intend to do :

For the design of the map, I'll try to approach something like that (not completely, but I like the style of the mountains, and some of the colors... though I think something more cold would be more appropriate) :

Don't hesitate to let me your ideas, observations, or recriminations... As I've just started, everything is wide open !

Looking forward to this one JO. Your country is one of the closest to invade for the folks from my northen snowy lands (Map C). I would suggest less mountains in the north and lot of villages. They are eager to pillage

Hmmm... I'm thinking "big wall made of ice"... Are your folks strange looking with very blue eyes ???

So here's a catch for me...

I've started the mountains, first with contour lines and some shadows in order to help me with my future caterpillar...
    After this first try :

I realised I had a scale problems : some mountains are more than 400 KM long... I know, there's still the "magic" excuse... but I'd rather not use that...

    So, I started over :

Those are still huge mountains, but they are more realistic regarding the scale... but, mostly, I find them a lot less attractive than the first ones...

    Any ideas anyone ?

(keep in mind that I won't keep the contour lines at the end, I want to try the caterpillar madness relief thing)

I made a fast try with the caterpillar... I have to improve my technique, and be more careful, but I might do the trick...

    What do you think ?

They seem to be broken attachments.

They're working now - and a very interesting chain of images they are too

I also prefer the 400 mile long mountains, but if you want to be realistic you can't really afford to keep them... unless you turn them into 400 mile long ridges?

I can't really see very much of the hachures to say anything on that front!
