September 2021 Challenge: The Island of Vythe

Uh oh, now I have to come up with a plan!

Seriously, I don't have one yet. But I realized that I had an idea in mind for the coastlines that I have to do first anyway. I'm going to take this blue pencil and make increasingly rough and sparse marks around the coast, like a wave texture, looking like they sit above the compass and border. I'm planning a dark Kellerican color scheme; I'll color the forests and add a little color to the land but mostly have a sepia layer over everything digitally.

Well, I decided to go with a relatively simple angular braid. The compass turned out great!

Thanks, I really appreciate all the positive comments on this thread! I feel like I'm not used to it.

Yesterday and today marked quite a bit of progress: I finished what I wanted to do with colored pencils, photographed the map, digitally fixed a couple pen mistakes on the compass, added one of Kellerica's textures, and took an initial pass at labeling the cities and towns. I decided on the grounds that the last time I experimented with one of her fonts, I won a challenge, that I would try Sarah Bell's new High Alpine.
