Link de Fer Settlement: A Free 18th Century Brush Set for Fantasy Maps

Hi ya! Long time no er… releases.
It’s been a while. Hope y'all had a good summer, considering.

Today I am excited to release the first in a series of sets coming from the work of French cartographer Nicolas de Fer who eventually became the official geographer to the Spanish and the French court in the 18th century. de Fer Settlements is a settlement-focused brush set taken from La Banlieue De Paris, an 18th-century map of the homes, towns, and villages that sprawled the Parisian countryside in 1717. It’s filled with lots of interesting little details, and to should work alongside any of my previous brush sets and allow a bit of variety to your fantasy map settlements.

As with all my other sets, these are distributed under a CC0 license, which means they’re free to use for personal or commercial work, no attribution is required! Let me know what you think!

You can read more about de Fer Settlements and download the set over on my blog.

Thanks, Kier! When you do, be sure to let me know. I love seeing what people make with the brush sets.

Great work, thanks for all your generous contributions!
Just a wee little question, do you still intend to turn de Fer's work into a series (as you suggested)? I don't mean to put you in a hurry, I'm just trying to decide between waiting for the rest of the "series" or trying out something else.
    Cheers!
