    Post Aphelyon Planet ( Commission)

    Hello everyone.
Here is my latest commission, it took several months to finish.
Its the culmination of work on maps from tectonics, to climatic and other maps summed up in a biome map.
I created both a Gepgraphy map and a BlueMarble style maps with several material maps to also be used in a rendered video presentation.
The client request was to have a blank map for his novel work and I took the freedom to use it to set in a scifi setting that doesn't reflect or has any relation to the actual future novels contents or lore of the client's future novels .
The Blue marble style is in my hope to emulate a realistic Blue marble Nasa image.

the original client maps are in superresolution of 21k that almost several times broke my pc , per his request the world had to have a mediterranean europe like region and some other features that I placed in a plausible geology.

I am uploading here some but for obvious reasons are in small resolution , for higher resolution head over to the links, that are 16k still smaller than the final ones.
    I hope you like.

Wow, that is impressive. You really have a knack for this sort of realistic style. I especially like the geography version.
I can't say I'm surprised your PC struggled with this one.

Congrats on getting this beast finished, it is quite an accomplishment. Awesome stuff!

My PC is struggling just to view the finished images so your must be a monster! ... 2 minutes later ... Man this is sooo cool and detailed. No wonder it took forever. Did you have a WIP thread on this map showing your process?

I am afraid you are producing stunning maps too quick for my rep to keep up

    Hello Naima,

I just wanted to let you know how much I admire this work of art, and how much it inspires me to persevere with my cartography hobby. (Although I lack both the hardware and the skill to produce anything nearly as impressive!)

Did you use a pre-existing tutorial or method to create the tectonics and topography? (I'm very curious). I'm currently using Nikolai Hersfeldt's tutorial to finalize the climatology of my current WIP; I know he also has another tutorial on tectonics.

How did you create the weather features such as the hurricane, and how did you pan the camera angle? Was it created using Celestia and/or Filmora, or something far more advanced?

Again, I'm impressed to such an extent that I consider you the leader in this particular style.

    Keep on conworlding!

    Peter

Beautiful work Naima. A pleasure to behold.
