May 2022 Challenge: The Shulic Depths
Hi,
I was wondering if I'm going to hop in. But, I really have been itching to map a hive. So, here I go.
So, I was thinking of going for a DnD Formian hive. Hopefully I can do them justice. Wish me luck!

So, I wanted to do the art for the corner. Though... it put me in a conundrum. Now I have to redo the hive on the right to at least fit with the theme of the hive art. But let's hope I get the time.

Today, I started adding more detail to some of the other chambers. Also, I changed my layout a bit.
I am still up in the air on how I want my cave walls to look. But it works at the moment.
Oh! And I already picked out a place for this location on one of my region maps. It's going to a pass through a mountainous area. So, I envision the party not having anywhere else to go, so they go into the caves.

Ooo, yuck. Looks very yucky. I wonder what sort of yucky creatures spawn in this yucky pit. One step inside is sure to permanently soil the boots of any adventurer.
You can even tell, without additional description that this place smells of "stay out!"
Also the eggs remind me of chaurus of Skyrim. By the way, that game was so unrealistic in a way that your character never had to take a shower, so you always walked around probably the grimiest creature in the entire realm. Yes, no, probably better to play Sims. ;D
