Thread: Colonial Marine Jump Spider Assault Starship

Default Colonial Marine Jump Spider Assault Starship

I decided to create another military starship, this one is the Colonial Marine small Jump Spider Assault boat, crew of 6, as a fast system boat ported to a Naval Carrier, without FTL/Drift/Hyperdrive, with maneuver thrusters only. It's fast, armored, a drop boat, and a mecha vehicle, able to move as fast as a medium humanoid in armor can run (able to keep up with the Marine squad on foot), as fire support and defensible campsite, and ship/vehicle. All 8 limbs feature a maneuver pod for flight and VTOL landing. This is inspired by the jumping spider.

Top Deck: bridge; corridor with missiles ready for loading into banks on either flank, with access door down to engineering; crew quarters in aft with head/shower, shown are 4 wall cut beds, with 2 more hidden beneath; ladder down.
Middle Deck: (forward area) engineering; (rear area) small tech workshop and sick bay.
Lower Deck: deployment hold with armor and hoverbike garage.

Modeled using Wings 3D, lit/textured/rendered in Vue Creator. Deck plans cut from 3D illustration done in Xara Designer Pro x11, my preferred vector drawing program.

    Enjoy!

I really like this one! Probably the most versatile vessel I've ever seen.
