Default Cirtemosi - an experiment in "isometrification"

Hey all! So with my latest commission in the process of final approval by the client, I went ahead and started another personal project again. This time I'm trying to create a landmass distribution that is perfectly suited for an isometric style. Below is the general layout of the landmasses, as seen from above:

I then proceeded to transform this into an isometric projection. No magic involved here, all you need to do is rotate the map by 45° (not really necessary but it helps in subsequent steps, stay tuned!) and multiply the vertical dimension by 57.74%. This gave the following result:

For my next update, I'll go ahead and ink this beast. So don't run away! Or maybe do, it might take a few days... But do come back!

Very nice, I’m always a fan of shifting a map into an isometric perspective. I love the depth you can give it.

I look forward to seeing more!

Default I really dont know how these title things work for replies

Beautiful! I always did more of a top-down coastline style with that kinda perspective mountain thing, but it never looked right. Maybe I'll try that isometrification thing sometime!

Oh yes, the pain is real! But a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do, right? No cramp no gain.

Also, here's my next update! You'll notice I started shading, while at the same time I'm still adding/altering/redoing the linework. I want my landscape to look interesting, so there's gonna be some more eye-catching features in the future. Nothing more dull than a map that looks like someone just poured a can of generic mountains and forests on top of it. Which is exactly how my previous update looked.
