    Wip Project // Westeros (WIP)

    Hello Guild!

Timing is just right for a new Westeros map... And it seems I have some personnal spare time ahead (finaaaally), isn't it just wonderful?!

So here I'll post some shots of the project

Here are the first drafts of this gigantic project (went way too big on this details). Lineart of the North is done (besides icons/ornaments). Laid out a few names for you to spot where we are more easily.

    Format: 50x100cm (1:2 ratio)
    Resolution: 300dpi

More to come the next few days hopefully!

    Happy mapping!

    Heyo!

I've not really been good at updating this thread since last week... But here is current WIP!

I've finally finished the drawing process for the map itself. I kind of have trouble right now figuring out what kind of frame I'll go for, so I went ahead and hopped on the painting steps.
I've chosen a dark blue/pink/purple palette color because I wanted to make the whole artwork to be lit from a sunset kind of light, as the narrative of Games of Thrones is all about the Night that is coming.
Also, palette have been heavely influenced by another artwork from The Witcher: Thronebreaker that really amazed me.

    Stay tuned!

Ambitious! The style is great! And it looks like a ton of work.

What kind of brush are you currently using for your highlights? I do like what it adds to the map.

Thanks! It's mainly some selection + gradient in photoshop + a rough triangular brush that I'm using for all things not related to lineart (might be Let It Bleed from True Grit).

Damn, I admire your brushwork. The texturing is looking a bit blurry at 100%, but the drawing itself is superb. And this is coming from a guy who really hates how Westeros looks too!

Fabulous work! Great use of both linework and shading.

Thanks! Yes, this is beacuse of the JPG compression. Artwork is about 50x100cm in 300dpi, so I wanted to avoid too big WIP exports
