Phew! I'm happy you guys feel the same way! I did not look forward to bump shading all of those buildings. Will do it the fake way then, and hope nobody notices :-P

Okay, update! Haven't added all of the forested bits yet, but "Age 1" houses etc are mostly there. Only some work left on the islands.

Question: does this population distribution look "organic" to you?

I just realized this is probably in the wrong thread. Can one of you wizards (mods) help me out please?

Well, this map is more about a city than a region, so it should probably be under the city subforum. I realize I said "thread" earlier, my mistake! Either way, no big deal if it stays put!

    Hey Caenwyr!

Absolutely love how this piece is looking. It's amazing that you can do that with just some clouds and wilbur.

Great city design too, I find it looks very natural and believable. Are you planning on mapping out the buildings for all of the stages? I find the earlier stages to be a lot more visually interesting that the later stages actually. The later stages of city growth seems just too full to me. I really love how it's starting to look now with multiple smaller cities/towns connected in a wider region.

Keep it up! Can't wait to see more progress

This is looking great. The scale you've chosen for this map is really nice, you don't often see maps like this that bridge the gap between a city map and a region map.

    Default Great Idea!

This is so cool! I've heard of the trick of using dry rice or lentils or something similar, or orange peels, but I've never seen a cloud map, great idea!
