February 2023 Entry: Rhea's Haven

So I have not been logged in for years, but this kind of lured me back.

I wanted this map to look as if it was from some kind of pen and paper rpg manual.
This way I could add some text to hint at adventures.
The map itself is supposed to look like something you would find on one of the planets and thereby indicating what living there may look like.

This is the road so far:

• create map in Blender and render it with eevee
• adjust the map in Photoshop (mostly using the cammera raw filter, making the planets brighter and smoothing the highlights. Also I added lots of little sparkles.)
• then I painted some "spacecraft bits" as backgroung for the text
• layout in Indesign
• go back to PS to remove the spacecraft bits and add the white areas in Indesign again.
  -> I did this, because I wanted the map to be cleaner and have the details where they matter, not behind some text.
• then i mirrored almost everything horizontally
  -> I did this because I wanted the text to have a clean left edge. Unfortnately, the headline is now not on white background anymore.

Think you achieved your goal. It has a chrome-ish feel to it which is pretty cool.

I enjoy the blurb here and these planets feel like they're shiny game pieces on a board which is neat! Though I'm not sure if the 'jet' in the blurb part is a typo or meant to be a pun on 'yet to see!' but with spaceships jetting off to explore
