Wip April 2023 Challenge: The Titan's Furrow

Long ago the the Mountains of Kinirech were inhabited by primitive hilltribes cut off from most of the continent's civilization. When the Titan's Furrow was torn through the mountains by a falling star, most of the hilltribes were destroyed by the impact. But now, 400 years later their few descendants have transformed into a powerful kingdom on the back of trade in the finest weapons and armor in the continent, forged from the "starsteel" mined from the crater at the Center of the Titan's Furrow.

Here's my first draft for this challenge. Sculpted the heightmap for the hillshade in Gaea. The colors are painted with oil paints in Rebelle 6 Pro. I will finish detailing in Gimp.

Another update. I need to decide if I want to do something more with the border or keep it simple. Borders are not my strength...

Ah, borders. I love borders and sometimes I spend waaayyy too much time. A simple border is perfect and you've got space to play with it. I noticed a couple of your trails extend into the border at the bottom though you could probably just shift some layers to hide that.

Adding the trail markers and settlements does a lot to bring this to life, nice work!

Thanks for pointing this out. I have fixed it and added a bit more to the border as well!

Nice one! I like the coloring. It's got a good feel to it, a nice mysterious sci-fi topo.
