    Map Unity (commission)

I had to take a six months break to map making and getting back to it was awesome. I am bit rusty but I am really fond of the map. hope you will like it too.

White linework on a coloured background is a really neat idea! I've played around with it from time to time, but never dared to actually commit Bold choice, it looks really cool. The little illustrations look great too. I personally prefer the version with the darker sea. Glad you're back to mapping!

    Thanks a lot.

I am planning to expand on the style. I am really fond of the idea but aplication left a "meh" feeling behind.

You might want to consider a black outline for the landmasses. It would probably yield a better overall visual balance. Take special note of those zoomed-in highlights of the map. That black edge aids the eye in better appreciating them, visually. The core and underlying visual issue/problem that leaves you with a meh feeling doesn't lie with the use of white line work, per se. Rather, it's more of a lack of sufficient contrast issue which imbues both versions of this map with a visual blandness, of sorts.
