    Thank you all for your kind words, it means a lot to me.
    And I think I'm basically done. I will fiddle with the typography a bit, unsure yet if I want to add states/settlements to the continental bit, but that's basically it.

    This is amazing - I loved seeing it develop from the first to the last posted image. Really digging the old National Geographic maps style.

    I have a few questions, if you don't mind?
    What software are you using? and do you have any favoured brushes, or brush settings? - I'm just starting out and I really like this style of cartography.

    Sorry for late response! Mountains and shoreline were done in Photoshop, all just 4px round brush and tablet (plus hatchure of the shore done with shadows). Labels, borders and all that I made with illustrator and re-applied it back in photoshop for better text outline handling.
