Thanks Mouse. This is my first go at doing something mainly pen on paper. I'll see how I go on. I think I'm done with the pencil bits. I want to learn how to do a groovy looking text box/banner so I'll be off for a while looking into that. I want to do as much as I can by hand for this challenge but I know I have the guts scanned so I can always go digital if I need to

This is difficult work. I have noticed that I want things to get bigger as they move right!

So I have to try to curb that and it's quite hard to do. Lots of rubbing out at the moment. Anyway...

    LOL!

    You're right handed?

The other thing that happens is its darned difficult to draw a top down mountain range without reverting to isometric view, but at least you haven't given yourself that particular problem this time around.

    This is looking great, Straf

I started to add some colour just to see what it would look like:

Is that colour on the original, or a scan?

Whichever, it looks pretty good - and your also quite brave if its on the original

It's on the original. I can't rub out the pencil lines on a scan.

OK I've started inking stuff in and it's become very clear to me I need to start using GIMP because my drawing skills are hideous Maybe I ought to have a drink to steady my very shaky hands!

OK I'm sorry but I am abandoning my hand drawn approach as I am just not up to scratch. I'll use the layout to do something in GIMP. I might try colouring it in and labelling manually though.

I really love the title plate and the compass rose. If nothing else, I hope you scan those in and add them to your digital map. Or something. Anyway, they look really good.

Personally I think it's really good so far! You are a far sight better than I am!
Like a thief in the night
    she comes with no form
    yet tranquility proceeds
    the accursed storm...
