Default August 2018 Challenge: Careful with that pickaxe Durin

    Another late entry !
I will try to represent the progression of a Dwarf tribe in the depths of a mine over decades in search of mithril deposits (any resemblance to an existing mine would of course be purely coincidental and anyway mine is much smaller) and all this in an isometric battlemap dungeon style. Since this is the first time I've ever made a map in this style, I hope I haven't made too many mistakes or broken too many codes!
First draft made with Sketchup. My idea, if I have time, is to redraw all this to give a more handmade impression.
As always, comments and suggestions are welcome !

Nice going. Looks nice and sleek so far. But, a hand drawn look would work out very well too, like you noted.
I still have no idea how one even start with such a project. The different levels on different elevations, boggles my mind a bit.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing this one coming together.

Most of the walls linework is done now I think, I did some tests on the floor (to the left), what is the best/less worst ?
I put the title and some legend, maybe not the final ones, to see if they are readable, any thought ? The numbers need some work too and I consider them as placeholders.

The différent era will each have their own color

I prefer the floor in the 6. But different floors could also be a cool thing.
    Great work so far!

This is a very nice map!
I agree with Ilanthar - the floor in the 6. seems to match the overall style of the map best, but I also like the faded tiles below.

Have to agree with Ilanthor and Neyasha, probably the floor in 6 or the partially faded floor in the unlabeled room above 7 and 8. On the whole, though, this is looking stellar!

Amazing work ! My personal favorite for floor would be probably the faded one above 7 & 8. The floor in 6 is really great but gives me the feeling of a dirt floor, so depending on what kind of floor you have, I would agree with Ilanthar too and say you can change style with no problem

Thanks you all ! Yes, I too find that the floor in 6 is a bit "sandy", but the faded lines don't go well on corridors. I've tried something a bit more straight, I hope to be able to show it soon, with some colorings too.
