Default Dec/Feb "22 Lite Challenge: Wolfhaven

This seems like a fun challenge. I just joined the Cartographers Guild, so I figure this would be as good a place as any to start.

I chose a randomly generated city to start with from watabou's Medieval Fantasy City Generator:

Hopefully I can this done in time. I'll post a WIP soon.

    Thanks Bogie!

Here's where I'm at so far, still rough early stages... I decided to try something that I haven't done before, and turn the city into a 3D asset. Will probably be rough, since I am new at this.

This is looking great so far, doing a 3D asset is a very novel approach. One thing you might want to consider is rotating the viewpoint a bit, the large building in the centre and the fortified keep are your centrepiece elements of the city and I don't think the current angle showcases them as well as it could. Rotating the viewpoint 45 degrees in either direction would potentially give a more interesting viewing angle.

Looking good. Curious as to what 3D software you're using?

Thanks! That's a great idea. I will definitely play around with the rotation and see if I can find a better angle.

Having never done anything with 3D modeling before, I made the mistake of starting to edit this in Paint 3D. If you have recommendations on any free software which might have better tools for painting something like this, that would be awesome. Even better if I could pull this file into the new program without redoing it....

Another update on WIP. Changed the angle a bit and added snow. Next steps will be the setting and fine tuning the aesthetics.
