Welcome!
The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Wow, I love the color. What did you do to get it? I have a worn parchment preset made, but it's nothing compared to this. It looks so believable as a weathered paper. Love it.
Actually the colors/texture is a combination of a lot of textures overlaid with several blending modes and opacities, with some grungy brushes work for the terrains colors.
I would like to imagine what goes into making such a design, but the unknown complexity of it deters me. I really like the look. I'll have to do some playing around to get something similar. The parchment I have is too light for the world I'm trying to capture. Excellent visuals again!
I want to use this as part of a pathfinder game. It seems perfect for the villains lands. I would absolutely love to see more of Oraven.
What program(s) did you use to make this map please?
I used Photoshop.
