    Mordor Holiday Resort
    by ChickPea

As everyone knows, the River Police silently patrol the Guild forums, carefully monitoring all threads and comments for violations. At the first sign of a river split, a klaxon goes off somewhere in Guild City HQ and the black helicopters launch. This is, of course, for everyone's safety and/or sanity.

This month, we decided to give them a vacation.

After they had departed, and the dust had settled, Ilanthar announced February's challenge. This month, brave Guilders were asked to 'Map it all wrong'...

This month's challenge is to do a map with "wrong" rules or inconsistent things, a map done as by someone with no clue of how geography, scales, climates, etc. works.
You can go wild and endly break the rules : place mountains or volcanoes with no reasons, place tiny mountains and gigantic trees, use 36 different scales, place arctic conditions at the equator, and of course, you surely don't have to fear the river police! The rivers going uphill are warmly recommended!

Among the entries was The Flat World by Francissimo, a mash-up of Terry Pratchett's Discworld and the Flat Earth Society. Azelor's entry was The Twilight Zone, featuring some improbable physics. Bogie's entry was also in the improbable category, with an Inside Out Dungeon, which may or may not also be a Death Star. Abu Lafia created The Elysian Patient, showing the work of the feared 'Geobusters' (maybe they should go on holiday with the River Police).

We had a few downright fun entries, including 'Call the Police!' by Tenia, featuring some awesomely wrong rivers and bevels. Waldronate entered into the spirit with 'My Furst Map', though his genius was thwarted by "idiot" software developers. Hmmm..... Straf probably wins the most 'wrongest' award for creating a thread titled 'Jan/Feb 2017 Lite Challenge: A Treasure Map'. (And yes, bonus points for catching out a CL who wasn't paying attention!!) Speaking of which...

Our winner this month is ChickPea with entry 'Mordor Holiday Resort'. If the ambiance of Castle Barad-dûr appeals, this is the place to be (perhaps that's where the River Police have gone?) ChickPea promises a discount to all Guild members, so you can't argue with that! Check out the WIP thread here.

Thanks to all who entered into the spirit of the challenge. Now get back to work!
