The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Thanks for the lovely comment, the rep and the vote, D I don't really pick up new software that easily! I have a tendency to just press a whole lot of buttons till I get what I want from an app... which if you think about it would be potentially dangerous in a real life situation Its the old "What does this button do..." situation If I'd really known what I was doing with Krita in those last 9 hours I would probably have finished in time. You just didn't see how many times I crashed it by hitting a soft spot by mistake! LOL! (Krita's version of the GIMP add-on, G'MIC, doesn't work very well). Fortunately it has an autosave function, which GIMP does not.
