It's hard to judge without seeing the other entourage, but gut feeling is dark (the thinner dark "bc left") .
That ocean pattern is pretty awesome. Can't wait to see where you go with this.
I'm trying to do something fresh as I reworked one of my gaming idea. So, I reused my old Nightfall coastlines (with a few changes) and added 2 continents to get that world map. I haven't finished the coastlines yet, and I'm hesitating between those two options : clear or dark inland coasts. Any opinion about this?

That looks pretty cool Ilanthar.
I would agree with Jay on the coast.

Thanks! I'll finish the coasts and probably go for the top one then .
And here it is how it looks with the coastlines done.

Dark. Definitely dark or it clashes with the ocean pattern when zoomed out. But not the darkest one you present (in my humble opinion).
Also, in my humble opinion... your coast is a little too much "evenly" uneven. Do you think it would improve with some not-at-all rugged coast? Say, like the french coast south of Bordeaux, for example
I like the dark, but I'd also try getting rid of the outer glow. With the ocean pattern graphic (which I really like), a glow to the landmasses looks kind of off.

Not sure to get what you mean Will... Do you mean without the effect (as the picture on the left) or without the inland effect (on the right)?

I know, Pixie! Actually, I think the coasts of my old Nightfall (Oriental continents of this world) where more smooth... There are some few places where the coastline is almost straight, but not much indeed. That would imply to rework this a lot. Maybe later .
Here are a few tests about polar ices/frozen lands & mountains/forests

Thanks for the useful comments everyone!
Just a few more mountains (lines). I'll add the forests/rivers on separate layers. What do you think of the mountains and frozen lands?
