Gimp 2.10.6 has a new filter called 'Long Shadow.'

I though, ok that's neat, but probably something I will not really use. Every example I see of it is with some text or logo.

Then I realized it can work for wall shadows, something that is really needed.

For example:

Normally drop shadows have a bit of an issue with corners.

This is really useful for top down things, I think.

As a quick example:

Otherwise a drop shadow might do this:
