Map The Fall of the Butcher at the Hands of the Glorious Host

Sample map highlighting my latest free brush set. I wanted to give an example of how sets like this can be used to tell a story. I stare at many old maps, and many of them were designed to support a narrative, and it's something I wanted to take a crack at but add a modern spin while still making it look dated. I'm pretty happy with the result.

    - Base town/unit/flora signs come from de Fer Battlefield
    - Landforms and water features are hand-drawn by me, trying to mimick a similar 17th-century style—I did okay. I could have gone up a point or two in the brush size.
    - Fonts from Three Isle Press.
    - Arrows and such are done in Illustrator, then I process them with tools from TrueGrit which I highly recommend.

In my brain, this would accompany (surprise, surprise) a book, and each spot was a Chapter following the progress of the villain with the blue sections being Interludes of a sort telling the hero's side of the story.
