Wip [WIP] The 6 realms - private fantasy map commission

    Hey all,

Looks like it's been a while since I didn't post any WIP here, I guess it's time to fix it So I'm comissioned by a client who wants a map for a game setting he's working on. The map is 15x20".

Let's start the WIP with the sketch provided by the client :

My goal here was to avoid the stacking feeling from up to bottom ( shown by the grey lines on the following attachment) and try to propose something more "natural" ( meaning more pleasant to the eyes in a aesthetical point of view, not really geographically realistic) while keeping the general placement of geographical features and territories provided by the client.

I came with this quick sketch, validated by the client :

And here's a first work on refining the coasltines.

This is looking awesome already, Max, and you've hardly started! I'm seriously curious how this will turn out. I'll be following this WIP closely, you never know what I'll be able to learn from your fantastic skills ;-)

Max, I've seen maps in published novels that look less refined than your "quick sketch".

I'm happy to follow your progress on this project.

I really like the way you do the water around the coast. And great to see the initial steps taken from the first sketch.

Thanks Bogie! Thank you Bogie. Updated with forests, rivers and terrains done. Outlining work is done at this stage.
